Power has returned to hundreds of homes in Welwyn Hatfield this afternoon (Monday).
The lights were switched back on again at around 2pm, seven hours after they went out this morning in Knebworth and Woolmer Green leaving residents without electricity.
A spokeswoman for the UK Power Network said: “Currently we have around 31,000 customer off supply in the Hertfordshire area.”
It is thought that last night’s strong winds are to blame for this morning’s power cuts.
