The M25 is closed clockwise between Junction 25 at Enfield and Junction 26 at Waltham Cross with congestion back to Junction 24 at Potters Bar.
The closure happened around 3pm when six lorries were invovled in a collision and is causing severe delays.
Traffic officers from the Highways Agency and emergency services are currently on the scene.
