Disruptive roadworks that are hitting Hatfield businesses hard in the pocket will not be completed for months, County Hall has revealed.
As the Welwyn Hatfield Times reports today, the protracted reconstruction of the Great North Road outside the railway station has infuriated owners of local businesses, and frustrated taxi drivers.
Completion of the work, which started in November, was last month put back to July 29, inspiring scepticism that this would be met.
But now the county council, which is coordinating the project, says “unforeseen issues” have delayed completion until “mid-October”.
