RESIDENTS can now keep an eye on when roads are going to be gritted across the county by follow the trucks latest movements on social networking site Twitter.
Councillor Stuart Pile explained the move by Herts Highways to keep road users up-to-date.
He said: “By knowing when we’re planning to salt, or are on standby, residents can be prepared for icy conditions and plan their journeys accordingly.
“We’re frequently asked when we’re going to be salting the roads, or if we’ve been out, so by signing up to these free services residents can get updates straight to their mobile phones or computers whenever we make a decision about when we’re going out salting.”
