Serious crash on A1(M) at Welwyn junction

Motorists should expect delays on the A1(M) following a serious crash southbound at Welwyn, involving an overturned car.
Beds, Herts and Cambs Road Policing Unit are warning of a crash at the Junction 6 southbound exit, Welwyn.
Police tweeted: Emergency services currently dealing with a serious crash at this junction, lane one closed.
“Heavy traffic building up, seek alternative routes if possible.
“Please drive carefully past the scene.”

Ambulance crews and firefighters from Stevenage and Welwyn Garden Citry are also on the scene.
Queues are stretching back all the way to Junction 8 for Stevenage, with delays of up to 45 minutes.
