TRAFFIC is at a standstill on the A1(M) following a four car pile-up this morning (Thursday).
The northbound carriageway is experiencing heavy congestion following the accident, which took place at 8.05 am near J6 for Welwyn.
A police spokeswoman said four cars, namely a white Citroen, a white Ford Transit van, a silver BMW and a black Nissan Navara, were involved in the collision.
One lane has now been re-opened and an ambulance is on the scene.
