A collision between junction 7 for Stevenage and junction 6 for Welwyn on the A1(M), caused major delays earlier this morning.

At 6.52am police were called to the collision, involving a white Vauxhall Astra, a white and blue lorry and a motorbike on the southbound carriageway of the A1(M) near Junction 7.

The Astra was facing the wrong way on the carriageway, blocking the road, according to a police spokesman.

No-one was injured and the Astra was recovered by police and the carriageway was cleared at around 8am.

The accident caused congestion but the A1(M) is now clear.
