Three people have been arrested and a dog has been seized in a Hatfield drugs raid.

Police targeted a Campion Road home on Tuesday morning and discovered 10 wraps of what is believed to be heroin.

A 31-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man from Hatfield, as well as a 24-year-old London man were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

They have been released on police bail until October.

What is thought to be a Staffordshire bull terrier was also seized, and will be examined to see whether it has been bred with a dangerous breed.

The arrests were made as part of Operation Scorpion.

PC Chris Ross, from Operation Scorpion, said: “Concerns have been raised by residents in the area about issues believed to involve drugs and I hope that this offers some reassurance to people that we will take action when we suspect that dealing is taking place.”

Anyone with information about drugs or drug related activity in their neighbourhood can call the police via the non-emergency number, 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
