Police appeal for information after a stone angel is stolen from a grave

Police have arrested three men on drugs charges after stopping a car in Hatfield.

The Rover car was stopped in Goldsmith Way at around 1.30am this morning (Thursday).

Three men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug with the intent to supply.

Two of the men, a 22-year-old and a 25-year-old, were from Ware while the third, also 22, was from London.

All three have been released on police bail until October 6.

A spokesman for the police said: “The occupants in the vehicle were detained for the purpose of a drug search but one ran away.

“Officers pursued this person on foot and they were subsequently detained a short while later.

“Items suspected to be cannabis were seized.”
