THOUSANDS of children attended an outside play event in Welwyn Garden City yesterday (Wednesday).

Nearly 6,000 people took part in national Playday 2013 at Stanborough Lakes.

Kids of all ages took part in sports, arts and crafts and dancing on the day which aims to raise awareness of the importance of play in children’s lives.

A spokeswoman from Welwyn Hatfield borough council said they had already received a lot of positive feeback on the event.
