FOODIES had a treat over the weekend with cuisine from around the globe in Welwyn Garden City.

On Saturday Howardsgate was packed with stalls selling an array of food, as well as lots of entertainment.

Khaled Hassan, events officer at organisers Oaklands College, said: “It is fantastic.

“It has really brought the community together and WGC really has a need for something like this.”

The Oaklands and Welwyn Garden City Food Festival was a chance for students to show off their skills and give visitors an opportunity to try something new.

The event brought crowds of people into the town centre.

They got the chance to try all sorts of different flavours including food from Jamaica and Thailand.
