Thousands of residents flock to popular Kimpton May Festival

Visitors enjoyed an abundance of entertainment and events between Friday and Monday, including maypole dancing, art shows, a hog roast and Pimm’s bar, and craft demonstrations.

There was also plenty for the kids to get their teeth into such as tennis tournaments, five-a-side football and leisure trails.

The ever-popular Kimpton Dog Show returned and saw the crowning of ‘prettiest bitch’, ‘waggiest tail’, ‘cutest puppy’ and ‘dog judges would most like to take home’.

Onlookers also gleefully watched as the event’s procession – led by Bhangra group Eternal Tall – made its way through High Street towards Kimpton Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.

An open-air cinema, wine tasting, brains of Kimpton quiz and music night also contributed to a fun-filled weekend.
