COLD-HEARTED thieves have ruined one family's Christmas after they stole presents from underneath their tree.

More than £1,500 of gifts and valuables, including jewellery, an Xbox game and T-shirts, were taken from a house in Park Street, Old Hatfield.

A woman at the home was too upset to talk in detail about the raid. However, she did say she came home at 10.30pm on Sunday after being away for the weekend to find the house "ransacked".

She said: "We think we may have disturbed them. They took all of our Christmas presents and now we don't have any time or enough money to replace them."

Call police with information on 0845 33 00 222.
