A PENSIONER whose bag was stolen from a department store has had it returned – by the thief!
The 83-year-old was out shopping in John Lewis, WGC, when he noticed his wallet and bag had been pinched at around 11.40am last Tuesday.
The following day, while gardening at his Westbush Close home, in Hoddesdon, the victim was surprised to see his belongings – mobile, car keys and perfume, although minus around 100 in cash – had been returned.
Neighbourhood sergeant Steph Morris said: “This is a very unusual incident for a thief to go to the trouble of returning the man’s personal belongings.”
