Residents at a Hatfield care home enjoyed tuneful therapy by trying out a number of musical instruments.

Hatfield Residential and Nursing Home, run by Sanctuary Care, yesterday hosted the event, which involved residents trying their hand at the tambourine, maracas, African drums and much more.

The Tamblin Way home’s manager, Mary Tolladay, said: “Music is such a therapeutic tool and our residents love it.

“Sometimes I find it can bring back memories of when a resident met a loved one, it’s such a powerful tool and something we fully embrace here at Hatfield.”

Resident Kathleen O’Brien, 90, said: “I love music and getting up to dance – Olivia’s session is the perfect excuse to dance, I’m always on my feet.

“Olivia is so talented and we all look forward to her sessions. The residents’ faces always light up.”
