The wait for the Flying Scotsman to run through Welwyn Hatfield is nearly over.

The famed steam train will leave London King’s Cross on Thursday, February 25 at 7.40am, and it is understood it will go past Potters Bar, Hatfield and Welwyn Garden City between 8am and 8.20am, on its way to York.

A spokeswoman could not confirm the exact time, and said: “While we understand interest in the inaugural journey of Flying Scotsman will be extremely high, we urge those wishing to view it do so from a safe vantage point.”
