With England set to make their World Cup debut tonight, a rapper from Datchworth has released a video with his ... unique take on their chances.

Jonathan Goodman from Datchworth - otherwise known as Testsite MC - has released a World Cup song with a damning verdict on England’s chances in the competition.

He makes his assessment clear with a chorus of “we’ve got no hope” in the song “Nope”.

“I’ve always cheered on England,” said Jonathan, who has been making World Cup songs since 2004.

But since England’s humiliation at the hands of Iceland in the Euros in 2016, he said he had no choice but to put his more negative thoughts out there, in the form of a rap video featuring a lot of flying Pukka Pies.

Apropos of nothing, he’s also added in the 1987 Chas & Dave hit “Hot Shot Tottenham”, as performed on on Blue Peter for good measure.

“It’s just a bit of carefree fun,” said the MC.
