Two teens, a man and a girl, were arrested on Thursday after damage was caused to a police car.

The unedifying spectacle unfolded in Juniper Gardens, in Welwyn, at around 8.30am, when officers descended on the area to arrest a man for allegedly failing to appear.

In the process of detaining him, a police car was damaged and the man was also arrested for criminal damage, and a 17-year-old girl was held for obstructing police.

The 17-year-old girl was released on police bail until January 28.

• Izmir Krasniqi, 19, of Juniper Gardens was charged with a public order offence and criminal damage. He is due to appear before Central West Herts Magistrates on January 9.
