A TEENAGER was hospitalised after slipping in her bathroom in WGC.

Paramedics were called to Barrington Mews, in Panshanger, after a 19-year-old woman fell and injured her neck in her second floor flat.

She was placed on a body splint and taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.

The accident happened yesterday (Monday) at around 5.30pm.

Ambulance spokesman Gary Sanderson said rescuing the teen was a complex operation.

“We believe the girl fell awkwardly in a bathroom and sustained a neck injury,” Mr Sanderson said.

“Due to the tight space and the nature of her injury, our hazardous area response team [HART] were called upon to assist in the safe removal from the flat to the ambulance.

“The young girl was placed in a MIBBS [Multi Intergrated Bodysplint] stretcher and removed from the flat and placed into the ambulance and taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further care.”

He added: “This was excellent team work by the ambulance and HART crews.

“The clinicians already at the scene identified it was going to be very difficult to get the girl from the flat so they called upon their colleagues from HART.”
