Teen’s Iron Man 3 homage branded ‘amazing’

AS audiences flock to the new Iron Man movie, a WGC teen has shown his mettle by creating a replica of the superhero’s suit.
The cracking copy took Archie Whitehead, 17, roughly 300 hours, and cost £300, to create – although unfortunately his suit does not give him the power of flight or the ability to fire lazers from his palms. But the foam facsimile does light up and has attracted online plaudits.
The Stanborough School student said: “Everyone thinks it is amazing, I guess.
“There are a lot of people on the internet who say it is realistic, most people I speak to are impressed.”
Archie donned the disguise – made famous by Robert Downey Jr – to a midnight screening of Iron Man 3 leaving his fellow fans impressed.
The suit is part of an A Level project but the Woodhall Lane resident wants to use his talent to get into prop building.
In the meantime though he plans to carry on with his amateur modelling and wants to build an updated version of the suit.
“I’m a little bit obsessed with the films,” he admitted.
