JOHN Denver was a big influence on singer Wayne Denton - so great, in fact, that he put together a tribute act to the flaxen-haired songster.
The resulting show, Country Roads: A Celebration of John Denver, comes to Castle Hall, Hertford, next week.
If songs like Country Roads and Annie's Song take you back to golden age of music, then this is for you.
"Despite being an entertainer and winning new faces as a vocalist in my own right, it was always the music of Denver which was my first passion," says Wayne.
"I think it's fair to say he was a hugely influencing factor on my career."
Backing Wayne's convincing Denver impression, is a strong band, plus backing vocals.
The show traces the early and late music of Denver including the legendary hits and gems like Grandma's Feather Bed and Leaving on a Jet Plane to name a few.
The show is on next Saturday (March 28) at 8pm.
