MOBILE phone giants T-Mobile and Orange are set to merge.
The new operator will have more than 30m customers UK-wide with 37 per cent on the British market, making it the biggest provider.
Some 3,000 workers at T-Mobile's headquarters in Hatfield face an uncertain future.
Neither company has confirmed if job losses are on the cards.
