SWIMMERS who raised more than 5,000 for charity have been praised by Brookmans Park Rotarians.
A total of 995 lengths were swam by 29 teams which ranged in age from seven to 70.
Swimmers included teams from Little Heath and Brookmans Park schools, together with church-goers, residents and supporters and members of rotary.
Club president Paul Johnson said: "This is the 17th year we have run this event and in that time we have raised over 83,000 for the charities we have supported.
"Our thanks must also go to the Furzefield Centre, Potters Bar Lifesaving Club and the pupils and staff from Little Heath and Brookmans Park schools."
Cheques were presented to representatives of Mr Johnson's chosen charities, Mercy Ships and the Alzheimer's Society.
