A SUSPICIOUS package was delivered to the constituency office of MP Grant Shapps this morning (Tuesday).

The package was delivered to Maynard House, in The Common, Hatfield and raised concerns among Mr Shapps' staff due to "bizarre" writing on the front.

Police were called and a spokeswoman for the force confirmed that the package was not dangerous.

Office administrator Sandra Benjamin said: "With these sorts of things it's best to err on the side of caution.

"People send all sorts of things to MPs' offices.

"If you're in the public eye you're likely to get post from people with an axe to grind. "This package looked very weird and it wasn't clear what was inside.
