Students evacuated after University of Hertfordshire blaze

EIGHTY students were evacuated from their lodgings yesterday (Sunday) after a bedroom bin blaze. Firefighters from Hatfield and St Albans were called to a four-storey accommodation block on the University of Hertfordshire's De Havilland campus in Hatfield

EIGHTY students were evacuated from their lodgings yesterday (Sunday) after a bedroom bin blaze.

Firefighters from Hatfield and St Albans were called to a four-storey accommodation block on the University of Hertfordshire's De Havilland campus in Hatfield just after 5.30pm.

A small bin fire was extinguished and a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to remove smoke from the building.

No one was injured.
