Seven bigwigs from Times Territory have been selected, including Welwyn Hatfield mayor Carl Storer and WHT editor Terry Mitchinson.

They will decide who is worthy of the now annual awards.

The civic awards are presented to people who live or work in Welwyn Hatfield for achievements in community work, sport, environment, the arts and even for bravery or courage.

Cllr Storer said: "I'm looking forward to reading through the nominations and working with the judging panel to select the winners.

"I would like to thank all my fellow judges for volunteering their time for this worthwhile project."

Terry added: "There are many people out there doing terrific work in the community and it is right we should be rewarding such efforts."

Nominations are open until February 15, for more information call 01707 357000.
