Steven Arno, 42, took a Ford Mondeo from Broadwater Crescent, without lawful authority or the owner’s consent on March 29 this year.

An accident then occurred and damage was caused to a silver Mercedes.

Arno admitted driving in Woodhall Lane, Welwyn Garden City, without a licence or insurance on the same date.

Arno, of Broadwater Crescent, was fined £360 when he appeared at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on April 17.

He was ordered to pay victim services £30 and £85 court costs.

He was banned from driving for a year.
