Fans of the age of steam will get a treat tomorrow afternoon when a vintage train rolls in and stops at Welwyn Garden City railway station.

The LNER A4 Class 4-6-2 no 60007 train, dubbed Sir Nigel Gresley, is due to make a 21 minute stop tomorrow (Thursday) after being scheduled to arrive at 3.39pm.

The train, which is running from York to Southall, will also pass through Potters Bar at around 4.10pm.

Welwyn Garden City is no stranger to visits from steam trains, the last of which took place in December, when the 60009 A4 LNER Class ‘Union of South Africa’ chuffed into town.
