Welwyn Hatfield Council has invited residents to its raising of the St George’s Day flag on Monday, April 23.

The borough’s deputy mayor councillor Barbara Fitzsimon will do the honours at the short service, which will be held outside the council chamber, at the council offices, Campus East, starting at 10:30am.

Light refreshments will be served afterwards in the foyer of the council chamber.

Nick Long, executive director at WHC, said: “The raising of the flag for St George’s Day is a chance for the local community to get together to mark this important day in our history. It would be great to see residents join us from throughout the borough.”
