Get into the festive spirit with a Welwyn Garden City church’s popular annual Christmas tree festival next month.

The event takes place at St Francis Church in Church Road, WGC, in conjunction with the 1st WGC Scout Group.

It will run over two days - Saturday, December 9, from noon to 6pm and Sunday, December 10, from noon until 5pm.

Entry is £3 with free admission for children under 12.

There will be hot food, mulled wine, children’s crafts, Santa’s Grotto, family games, a tombola, grand raffle, cakes, food and gift stalls.

Member of the church Rob Smith said: “Last year we had nearly 1,000 people visit the church.

“It’s a big event.

“Last year there were 80 trees and each is organised by a local group such as the cubs, scouts or schools, and they are all themed with a different message.

“It’s a really lovely weekend and all the trees are all around the church.

“We usually have people from the church choir singing as well.

“It’s a lovely family, festive occasion.”
