Spurs legend Ossie Ardiles will officially open Welwyn Garden City FC’s recently-upgraded football ground this weekend.

The Herns Way ground was refurbished by local youngsters using parts of Tottenham’s recently demolished White Hart Lane stadium.

It will be officially reopened by the midfield maestro on Sunday at 12.30pm.

Before the upgrade project, Welwyn Garden City FC’s ground did not meet the FA National Ground Grading Criteria (FANGGC) requirements for their Step 5 position.

But thanks to a £100k grant from the Premier League, as part of its Football Stadia Improvement Fund, the ground now surpasses the standard required.
