GYM-GOERS in Potters Bar helped raise at least 1,000 for charity by taking part in a 12-hour 'spinathon'.
The challenge, which took place at Parkwood Health and Fitness Club, in Darkes Lane, involved keeping the wheels of 17 exercise bikes spinning constantly from the opening of the club at 8am to closing time, at 8pm.
Some 100 people took part, paying 5 for each hour they spent on the bike.
Gym manager Rafael Mattia, who co-ordinated the event, said: "The Spinathon has been a great way of raising money for a good cause, whilst having fun and getting fit at the same time."
