South Mimms residents enjoyed another “fantastic” St George’s Day street party.

The community event involved closing Blackhorse Lane to allow residents to line the street, where they enjoyed face painting, barbecues, food and drinks.

Kids also soaked up the joyous atmosphere playing safely in the road.

Glyn Martin, 41, who organised the get-together again following its success last year, said: “Even the small amount of rain in the afternoon did not stop the party.

“People brought barbecues, snacks and drinks and danced the day away and then well into the evening in The Blackhorse Pub.

“I cannot wait to start organising next year.”

He thanked everyone who attended and supported the event, including The Blackhorse Pub’s owner Renanta – who supplied the “amazing” food – and South Mimms Parish Council, which provided a grant to help towards to costs.
