A BOY thrown from a fairground ride at the Sonisphere Festival is recovering in hospital.
The teenager, who is from Hertfordshire, was catapulted from the ride and into a row of portable toilets in the grounds of Knebworth House, where the heavy metal festival was taking place.
The 14-year-old - not 15, as was first thought - was rushed to the Lister Hospital with "life-threatening" chest injuries.
He had also injured a wrist and ankle in the freak accident, at 2.30pm on Saturday.
His condition today (Monday) was described as stable.
A police spokeswoman said the accident had been passed to the Health and Safety Executive to investigate.
