A BOY thrown from a fairground ride at the Sonisphere Festival has been discharged from hospital.
The lad, who had spent his 15th birthday on Saturday in a hospital bed, was given the all-clear to go home by doctors yesterday (Wednesday).
He had been catapulted from a Orbiter-type fairground attraction and into a row of portable toilets at the rock festival in the grounds of Knebworth House on Saturday, August 1.
He was rushed to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage with life-threatening chest injuries and internal bleeding, as well as a damaged ankle and wrist.
Days later the teen, from Hemel Hempstead, was transferred to St Mary's Hospital in London for specialist treatment.
This week he was transferred back to the Lister, before being discharged.
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the accident.
