Celena Fernandez has released four-track record Reaching New Heights to rave reviews.

The soulful performer, who has worked with producer Michael Humphrey, has said the EP, available for download now, will help a fundraising drive by news editor Dave Burke, a childhood friend.

Celena has backed Dave, who will be trekking to Everest Base Camp later this year in aid of the Welwyn Garden City hospice.

She said: “I’m really excited about this record. Hearing my voice on these tracks was incredible, I’m really happy with the results.

“I’m hoping it’s the start of big things – I’m talking with a number of producers about making more tracks and remixes, and am now performing at gigs around London.”

Explaining her decision to donate the proceeds, she said: “I was talking to Dave about his challenge, and it sounds incredible.

“I did some research about the hospice he’s raising money for, and it really is a great charity.

“It costs a fortune to keep it running each year, and most of the money has to come from fundraising.

“I really hope I can help, it’s a great cause.”

Dave said: “I was incredibly moved when Cel said she would donate her earnings from this record – she’s worked so hard to get to this stage.

“She’s a fantastic singer. I’ve known her since we were kids, and all our friends have been saying for years that she should make a record.

“It’s really exciting that she has, and she sounds great.

“It’s incredibly generous, and I really hope people download the record, while helping a fantastic charity at the same time.”

Dave has set his sights on raising more than £5,000 for the hospice.

Celena Fernandez’ debut EP is available to download on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.
