Police have released pictures of items taken from an outbuilduing and a house in Grubbs Lane, as they have great sentimental value to the distraught owner.

They include a tanker with a decorative lid, three small hippopotamus statues, a five-inch tall beaker, a goblet marked “JMMG”, and a decorative spoon with Icelandic script.

The burglers also stole tools, a 50-piece bone handle cutlery set, a pocket watch, and die cast models of a Lamborghini and a Mercedes C class cars.

PC Nick Surridge said: “Many of these items are of great sentimental value to the victim who has been left deeply upset by the burglary.

“The items of silverware in particular are highly distinctive and I am therefore appealing to anyone who thinks they may have seen them, or knows of their whereabouts, to contact me.”

He hopes anyone who saw anything suspicious between 1.15pm and 2.30pm on Friday, May 22 will call him on the police non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference B2/15/1865.
