AN 80-year old woman from Hatfield was burgled while she was away visiting her son.
The pensioner, from Park Meadow, lost a silver clock of great sentimental value from the break-in, and police are now appealing to the public to help them find it.
The clock is approximately five inches tall with Roman numeral digits, and the following words or very similar are engraved on the front under the face: "Presented to Sergeant and Mrs Forsyth on the occasion of their leaving the 2nd battalion to go to the 1st".
The clock was stolen along with other objects including a silver tray, collection of silver spoons, silver dish and spoon and silver napkin rings.
