A shoplifter stole from shops in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield

A man has been charged with thefts from stores in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield.

Michael James Dormer, 30, of Stanborough Green, Welwyn Garden City, appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 22.

He was charged with a theft from John Lewis in Welwyn Garden City on Monday, February 8, a theft from Boots in Hatfield town centre on Wednesday, March 16, and a theft from Morrisons in Welwyn Garden City on Monday, March 21.

He pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay £340 in fines and costs.

Dormer is also forbidden from entering any Boots or Morrisons stores in the UK for 12 months, and must undertake 80 hours of unpaid work.
