Hatfield House

The 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death was marked at Hatfield House this weekend by performances of his work, including poetry, songs and prose.

The mansion’s Songs and Sonnets event over the weekend was recommended as Number 9 in a list of ways to mark the occasion by the website.

It told readers: “Their Shakespeare’s Songs and Sonnets event on 23 and 24 April will transport you to Shakespearian times as actors and musicians in period costume entertain you with the bard’s poetry and prose. And why not take a tour of Hatfield House itself while you’re there? This romantic day out is sure to leave you enchanted.”
