Police have launched a sex assault probe after a teenage girl was targeted by a man in Potters Bar.

The alleged victim was walking along Mutton Lane when she was approached by the attacker, who spoke to her and then touched her inappropriately.

It happened shortly after 4pm on Friday, February 21.

Assistant investigator Sally Johnson said: “Understandably the victim has been left shaken by this incident, but thankfully not hurt.

“We are appealing for information from anyone who may have been in the area.”

It is thought the victim may have spoken to a woman in Laurel Avenue after the attack, and police are keen to speak to her.

The man is described as Asian, aged around 19 or 20, around 5ft 6ins and of average build.

He had short black hair and stubble, and was wearing a burgundy quilted jacket and jeans.

It is thought he was with a group of men at the time.

Anyone with information should speak to AI Johnson by calling the police non emergency number, 101, citing crime reference J3/14/144.
