Police have appealed for witnesses after a crash today in Hatfield resulted in a man in his 70s being hospitalised.

Emergency services were called just after 10am to the collision in Roehyde Way, which involved a black Audi TT and a black Seat Ibiza.

A police spokeswoman said that one of the motorists – a man aged in his 70s – has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Sergeant Douglas Fishwick, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the two vehicles involved shortly before the incident to contact Hertfordshire Constabulary via the non-emergency number 101, quoting ISR 191 of May 24.
