HERTFORDSHIRE Constabulary’s Deputy Chief Constable Simon Parr has been appointed Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire Police.
Mr Parr, who has held his current post since 2007, will take up the role in September when the serving Chief Constable Julie Spence retires.
Ruth Rogers, the chairman of Cambridgeshire Police Authority, said: “Against strong competition and a very rigorous recruitment process, Simon has clearly emerged as the best candidate to lead the Cambridgeshire force into the future.”
“In Simon Parr we have made the right choice for the people of Cambridgeshire and officers and staff of the Constabulary.”
