A ‘top secret’ music festival was held in the grounds at Knebworth House last week.

The event, for fans of the band Embrace, was held on Saturday, in the grounds of the stately home.

Martha Lytton Cobbold, managing director of Knebworth Estates, told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: “We did indeed have such an event last Saturday in the self-contained North Park field.

“The event was a pre-sold show for the fan base of the band Embrace, they didn’t know the venue of their event until hours before.

“A new type of event to us, it ran very well, was a brilliant small event and lovely to see the fans enjoying it.

“As a matter of course the authorities knew in advance of the details and logistics as we do with all licensable activities, but all kept the band name quiet to keep the surprise.”

She added: “It was lovely to see the lead singer, Danny McNamara, open the gate to the event field for the fans.”
