CHILDREN, staff and even the village reverend celebrated the extension of Northaw Primary School.
An assembly was held at the Vineyards Road establishment where youngsters presented stories about the school's history which stretches back to 1850.
The Rev Michael Beer blessed the new extension which is based at the front of the school.
It houses the staffroom, headteacher's office, secretary's office, reception and toilets.
Headteacher Ray Clarke said: "The village school needed improved accommodation for staff and visitors.
"The children presented stories about the building blocks for life: those values that are important for us all in a caring society.
