Hertfordshire County Council’s Trading Standards is inviting residents to a free scam awareness session in Welwyn Garden City.

The get-together is designed for anyone who has been a victim, knows of one or wants to learn more about scams to avoid them in the future.

A police OWL message sent to residents said: “By attending a Friends Against Scams awareness session, you will learn about some of the different types of scams that are currently operating and how to spot and support a victim.

“With increased knowledge and awareness, people can make scams part of everyday conversation with their family, friends and neighbours, which will enable them to protect themselves and others.”

The session is in WGC Library’s Meeting Room, Campus West, at 2.30pm on Thursday, June 28. No booking is needed.
