CAR owners are being warned to remove valuables from the sight of thieves after a sat nav was pinched.
The device was taken from a black Suzuki Vitara parked in The Causeway, Potters Bar, leaving a smashed window and 100 worth of damage.
Potters Bar Neighbourhood Sergeant Dave Smith warned: “Remember to remove your sat-nav, even when your car is parked on your driveway, or you risk it being stolen.
“Getting into the habit of removing any property from your car could save you a lot of expense and inconvenience in the long run.”
He added if you are offered a sat nav or car stereo outside of the usual retail outlets at a price that seems too good to be true, remember, it usually is – report all suspicious activity to the police on 0845 33 00 222.
