Hatfield's annual Santa run launches this weekend and he is making an extra special visit to a severely ill baby.

As well as doing his usual run around Hatfield this year, Santa will also be visiting one very ill baby during a fundraising event.

On Saturday, December 3, at the Tai Mai Lounge in Hatfield Town Centre, Santa will be there to meet children from 5pm until 8pm.

The event, which everyone is welcome to attend, is to raise funds for WGC baby Isabella Watkins. Isabella was severely brain damaged at birth and her family are raising money to send her to Panama for Stem Cell Therapy.

Santa will also be visiting:

Hatfield Town Centre, 10am until 1pm on Saturday, December 3.

Lemsford Village at The Sun PH, at 5.10pm on Monday, December 5.

Hatfield Garden Village, Santa will park near 16 Campion Road and will also travel along Campion Road and Daffodil Close, at 6pm, on December 6.

Ellenbrook, Santa will travel along Bramble Road, Selwyn Crescent, past Honister Care Home, then onto The Sidings and up Mosquito Way, at around 5pm, on December 7.

Hatfield Town Centre, 12pm until 2pm.

South Hatfield, petrol station to Hawthornes, then to Hazel Grove, stop at Coppice Close, then to Bradshaws, Furzen Crescent, Shallcross Crescent and then to Lower Bishops Rise, at around 5pm, on December 12.

Millwards, Santa will be at Strawberry Field 4.15pm. Then travelling onto St Audrey’s Close, Stanley Drive and then to Badger Way, on December 13.

Central High Dells, Cavendish PH, all back roads to Briars Lane back to Cavendish Way, at around 4.45pm, on December 14.

Old Hatfield and The Ryde including Old French Horn Lane, on December 16.

Hilltop Shops, 11am until 1pm, on December 17.

Roe Green, Lemsford Road and Middlefield, between 6pm and 6.10pm, on December 19.

Birchwood East, Crawford Road, Stonecross Road, Clarkes Road, Ground Lane, Homestead Road, Heathcote Ave and Birchwood Close, on December 20.

Birchwood West, Longmead, Cornerfield, Drovers Way, Wood Common, Chelwood Ave and Birchwood Ave, on December 21.

A spokesperson for Hatfield Town Council said: “Times, dates and routes are subject to change without notice due to weather, traffic, ‘elf and safety or other factors beyond our control.

“We apologise if this causes disappointment to any children and assure you that it is not our intention.”

Santa can be met at Birchwood Leisure Centre on any of the dates above (except Saturdays) from 3.45pm until 4pm, where he will personally say hello to your child.
