Can you provide a new home for a cat that has been at RSPCA Southridge for more than a year?

Lola is a beautiful three-year-old domestic semi longhair.

She has unfortunately been at Southridge for over a year now looking for her forever home.

A spokeswoman for the animal centre in Packhorse Lane, Ridge, said: “Poor Lola was straying and skinny when found by a member of public who called the RSPCA.

“Lola is an independent girl who, although a little aloof at first, enjoys the company of the staff and the volunteers.

“However, she likes her own space so does not like to be handled too much.”

The RSPCA spokeswoman added: “We cannot understand why Lola has been overlooked for so long as she is a lovely, playful cat who can be affectionate but is just as happy keeping herself entertained or having a snooze in the sun.”

Lola is looking for a quieter, adult-only home with patient owners who will give her the time and space she needs to settle into home life.

She may be able to live with a calm dog but would prefer to be the only cat in the home.

“It is important that she has outside access to a secure garden where she can spend her days exploring her territory and sunbathing when the sun is shining,” added the spokeswoman.

“Lola is a charming, sweet girl with plenty of character who really does deserve to find her forever home with a warm lap to curl up on.

“She has had an unlucky start to her life.

“She really needs to find a loving family of her own who she can trust and finally learn to enjoy life with.”
