Max the dog, and Ariel and Henry the cats are this week’s trio of pets looking for new homes in our RSPCA Southridge appeal.

Border collie crossbreed Max is a handsome six-year-old who unfortunately came into Southridge as his owner had financial problems.

“He is a sweet, friendly boy, who can be a little nervous at times,” said a Southridge spokeswoman.

Max will need an active home with children over eight years old.

He is not suitable to live with cats and would benefit from further training and socialisation.

The RSPCA spokeswoman added: “We have been told that Max previously lived with a dog so could live with one following controlled introductions at the centre.

“He loves playing and going for long walks. Max is a wonderful boy who deserves to find his forever home.”

Ariel and Henry are a gorgeous pair of domestic shorthair cats who find themselves at Southridge after being signed over by their owner.

Ariel is three years old and Henry is six.

“They are very sweet natured cats who love to spend time with their human friends getting lots of attention,” said the RSPCA spokeswoman.

“Ariel can be a little timid to begin with, but with the help of Henry, eventually comes round.”

Ariel and Henry are looking for a home with children over the age of 10 with a family who will give them time and patience to settle.

They could live with a calm dog and will need outside access to a secure garden.

The RSPCA Southridge spokeswoman added: “They are such a gorgeous couple who would love to find a loving forever home together.”

• If you are interested in rehoming any of the animals featured this week, the RSPCA centre in Ridge, Potters Bar, is open from 11am to 4.15pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Southridge is also open on Sundays from 1pm to 4.15pm.
